Here we will take a look at the upcoming fixtures in Matchweek 4 of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.
After Chelsea’s shocking performance last week, this will be a tough game to bounce back. Crystal Palace have looked fantastic after picking up a win against Manchester Utd and a rather unfortunate loss against Everton. This is going to be a tough battle for both sides but Chelsea seem to have made a good signing in new goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, who could be the missing piece they need to secure the win. I imagine Chelsea’s firepower will just be a bit too much for Palace to prevent a loss.
My prediction: 2-1
Man of the Match: Timo Werner
Everton is my stand out team from the start of the season and their new signings are showing their quality. Everton’s strikeforce is phenomenal and I think this will be too overwhelming for Brighton. Brighton have looked good at times going forward but there seems to be space to exploit behind the wing-backs and so with the ability of Everton’s front three, they will do nothing but but look to exploit this. I think this is gonna be an easy ride for Everton; Brighton will be lucky to escape without a loss.
My prediction: 4-1
Man of the Match: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Another tough game early on for Leeds sees them hosting Manchester City. City have looked lackluster but their recent defensive signings coming in will look to shore up the backline. However, I don’t think these signings will be available to use this match so I think it will be another close one, especially as both of Manchester City’s strikers are out injured. I can see another goal from Bamford but I think the experience and quality of Man City will drive them to a victory.
My prediction: 1-2
Man of the Match: Raheem Sterling
Newcastle will look to get their second win this season as they host a poor Burnley side. Sean Dyche’s time is running out as the Burnley fans grow more frustrated at the win less side. I think Burnely will struggle again and I think their approach of sitting back and soaking up pressure will not be effective against the Newcastle attack. I think Andy Carroll could be a useful addition in this game as his height and strength will put a lot of pressure on Burnley’s defence.
My prediction: 1-0
Man of the Match: Callum Wilson
West Ham will look to take the momentum of their 4-0 shock win over Wolves last week. Leicester will be another tough opponent for the Hammers and they will need to be rigid at the back and free-flowing going forward to look to get anything from this game. I do, however, think Leicester will control large portions of this game and Vardy will run riot. The scoreline will not reflect West Ham’s performance this game and they will be disappointed to not take their few chances better.
My prediction: 3-0
Man of the Match: Youri Tielemans
West Brom shocked everyone last week as they took an early 3-0 lead against Chelsea, the game ended 3-3 but the result was impressive regardless. Southampton will be disappointed with previous results but after their 1-0 win against Burnley, they will look to push on and get their second win of the season. I think we could see a similar outcome to last week and West Brom pick up another vital point as they battle to stay alive.
My prediction: 2-2
Man of the Match: Danny Ings
Sheffield United are another side finding themselves win less and will be looking to pick up vital points early on. Arsenal will be one of the tougher opponents for them as they love to attack high and keep the ball. I cannot see Sheffield getting anything from this game as I think the firepower of Arsenal will be too much for Sheffield to handle.
My prediction: 2-0
Man of the Match: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Fulham have struggled to show their quality and need to find something soon, otherwise, they could see themselves finishing very low down the table and a quick return to the championship. Wolves crumbled last week as they lost 4-0 to West Ham. I see this game as being a quite simple bounce-back win for Wolves as they look to kick start their form from last year.
My prediction: 2-0
Man of the Match: Raul Jiminez
My game of the week finds Tottenham travelling north to face Manchester United. New signing Bale will have to watch on again as he is still out injured and I think Tottenham could find themselves needing him later on in this game. We’re going to see goals and the end-to-end football we will see in the second half will dictate the scoreline. I think Manchester United’s quality in the final third will narrowly see them through this game.
My prediction: 2-1
Man of the Match: Bruno Fernandes
The final match of the week sees Villa host current champions Liverpool. As we get closer to the end of the transfer window Villa seems to keep strengthening every week. New signing Ross Barkley is another excellent addition. However, I think Liverpool is still far and beyond Villa’s ability and I think Liverpool will breeze through to 4 wins in 4 matches
My prediction: 1-3
Man of the Match: Mohamed Salah
