Today was the first time this year where we saw Over-Investing kill off Thursday flips. Many cards we saw as popular investments actually dropped or just didn't move from rewards today causing a good percentage of users to either lose coins or make very small profits. This was due to over investing from many users within the community and game.
What exactly is over investment?
Its pretty much self explanatory, its when too many people are investing in cards. What happens when this occurs, is when investors start to sell off their cards, there's actually more people selling cards than there will be buying causing undercutting and prices to either go down or stay the same. On the image above, which is a graph of the index100 on futbin, you can see at the beginning of the week we started to see cards drop from Saturday into Sunday but then we actually saw a rise from Monday into Tuesday, this was caused by many investors buying during the game. Wednesday and today have stayed rather flat or even down a little on a few cards. We also can be seeing cards going down a bit from fear due to the RTTF promo releasing on Friday.
How can we spot over investment and avoid it?
Well to avoid any over investment, always buy before anyone else does. I like buying flips during Squad battle rewards on Sunday evening into Monday morning usually. I also like selling in the hype and taking profit as it comes. I sell before rewards drop on the Wednesday prior. Spotting over investment is easy. Look for days where the market spikes up. Theoretically, there is no reason for the FIFA market to be rising on a Monday and if it does, that's due to investors buying. Thank you guys for reading this article!
