December is officially here and that means we get to enjoy all types of different content this month from FUTMAS to Prime Icons! It should be a ton of fun and is one of my favorite times of the year to play during! Based off last year, we had 4 straight weeks of promos jammed in together. Below are all the promos that we are expecting plus the date we should be expecting them on. Keep in mind the dates are just predictions and may slightly vary.
1st: UEFA Team of The Group Stage
Expected: December 4th
In previous FIFAs, TOTGS was launched after the 5th match week in the UCL. Today and tomorrow would be the 5th match week as well meaning that we should expect this promo on Friday. TOTGS usually is a boosted team of the best performing players in the UCL so far! This year we can expect to see the likes of KDB, Haaland, Jota, and many more who performed well so far! We will also likely see 1 objective player and 1-2 player SBCs to follow!
2nd: Team of The Year Nominees
Expected: December 11th
Last year was the first year we were introduced to TOTYN cards. Essentially what they are, are cards that get a +1 boost in every stat from the base cards. All players who get nominated for TOTY will get a TOTYN card and they will be in packs for likely a week or so and will run during FUTMAS. These cards were really fun to trade with because supply last year on these cards allowed for lots of fluctuations
3rd: FUTMAS
Expected: December 12th-13th
FUTMAS in the past has been my favorite promo because it is very different from the current promo styles we have. Instead of having a promo team, each day leading up to Christmas we get 3 player SBCs. One High tier SBC, One Mid Tier SBC, and then a Low Tier SBC. Usually this is a good time for fodder however in FIFA 20 the selection of players and SBC requirements was very poor. Hopefully this year EA will choose better requirements. This promo also comes with an Objective card or two and will likely run up until Christmas Day!
4th: Prime Icons
Expected: Sometime During FUTMAS
Last year we saw Prime Icons introduced during the FUTMAS promo and I’d expect the same here. Personally I believe they will drop on the 18th of December however there is no confirmed date as of yet.
5th: Icon Swaps
Expected: N/A
We have no clue when icon Swaps will drop however EA have said it will be sometime in December, I wanna say it’ll be earlier in the month but I really have no clue. Icon swaps is a set of objectives you complete in order to get tokens to unlock icon players or packs as rewards!
6th: New Years
Expected: New Years Time
New Years will be strictly a pack promo with some potential Puzzle SBCs. Last year EA did not do too much for this as I’m sure many people wont even remember that we had New Years content last year.
